The S5920 series switch is a high-performance Layer3 aggregation routing switch developed by Focus. It is applied in enterprise campus network and easy to deploy Layer3 switching solution that offers enhanced security and 10GE uplinks, RIP/OSPF/BGP/IS-IS, L2&L3 Multicast, M-LAG stacking enabled and flexible management.
The S5920 series switch can be used as L3 access devices on large-sized campus networks. They can also be used as aggregation devices on small and medium-sized campus networks. The switches help build highly reliable enterprise campus networks that are easy to expand and manage.
S5920 series include S5920-48T4X-P,S5920-48T4X,S5920-24T4X,S5920-48S4X-D,S5920-24T4X-H model
Features
Intelligent enhanced Ethernet power supply (POE model only)
S5920 series switches support intelligent enhanced Ethernet power supply:
1. It supports IEEE 802.3af (PoE), IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) and IEEE802.3bt (HPoE) power supply standards and is fully backward compatible. A single port of the HPOE switch can provide up to 90W of power supply, which can provide Ethernet power supply for high-power terminals such as WiFi 7 wireless access points, high-power surveillance cameras, and video IP phones, making the network easier to use, more cost-effective, and more reliable.
2. Supports PoE intelligent power management functions, including enabling or disabling interface power supply, interface output power configuration, device power priority configuration, power overload protection, over-temperature protection, etc.
3. Supports POE intelligent power supply functions, including timed power supply, periodic restart of PD, monitoring of PD connectivity status and restart when lost, etc.
4. Support for permanent PoE maintains PoE power during switch reloads. This is important for critical endpoints such as medical devices and IoT endpoints such as PoE-powered lighting systems to ensure no interruption during switch reboots.
Complete QoS strategy
S5920 series switches can provide high-quality QoS capabilities, achieve predictability of network performance, help users allocate network bandwidth more fully, use bandwidth resources more reasonably, and ensure network service quality:
1. It supports refined flow classification capabilities based on the MAC layer, IP layer, and application layer, and can assign different priorities to various flows based on business characteristics.
2. Supports various flow actions, including the re-identification function of the service traffic priority field, and the redirection or mirroring function of the traffic, to achieve network scalability.
3. It supports flow control strategies such as traffic supervision and traffic shaping, and supervises traffic specifications to regulate the use of bandwidth resources by various types of traffic and improve bandwidth utilization.
4. It has complete queue scheduling algorithms and congestion avoidance algorithms to meet the service quality requirements of different user terminals and different business types of the enterprise.
Large table entries, flexible and efficient system resource optimization capabilities
The S5920 series access switches have the capability of large table entries, which may meet the user access requirements of the campus for large table entries such as MAC table, routing table, and ARP table, maximize the utilization of chip table resources.
Intelligent virtualization technology
S5920 series switches support intelligent virtualization technology, and realize link aggregation between multiple devices through MLAG (cross-device link aggregation), thereby providing device-level link protection. Building a Layer 2/Layer 3 active-active system through MLAG+VARP has strong advantages in scalability, reliability, overall architecture and availability. MLAG can bring the following benefits to users:
1. Simplify business: The application of MLAG cross-device link aggregation technology can replace the original spanning tree protocol, eliminating the interaction of a large number of protocol messages between devices, simplifying network operation, and shortening the convergence time during network turbulence.
2. High reliability: The control plane is separated from the forwarding plane, and the control plane is independent, isolating the fault domain. When a switch fails, all data will be transmitted through another switch, providing high reliability protection for the user network.
3. Unnoticed service upgrade: During the upgrade process, the client has no perception of service interruption, which reduces risk and improves efficiency.
Multiple reliability protections to ensure business continuity
1. Supports over-current protection, over-voltage protection and over-temperature protection technologies.
2. Supports built-in AC and low-voltage DC power supply structure design. At the same time, the whole machine also supports power supply and fan fault detection and alarm, and can automatically adjust the fan speed according to temperature changes.
3. Without enabling STP, the fast link protection protocol SmartLink can be used to provide fast link protection, allowing users to still provide basic link redundancy when STP is disabled, while providing millisecond-level fault recovery that is faster than STP.
Rich security control strategies
The S5920 series switches provide a comprehensive set of security control strategies to enhance monitoring of network access traffic and reduce threats:
1. It supports multiple authentication technologies such as AAA, TACACS+, RADIUS, etc., provides users with a complete security authentication mechanism, flexibly adapts to the multiple authentication requirements of the network environment, and ensures the legitimacy of terminal devices and users accessing the network.
2. Supports ARP Inspection, which detects, records and promptly prevents ARP spoofing attacks by checking the legitimacy of ARP packets, thereby enhancing network security.
3. Supports anti-DDoS attacks (ICMP Flood/Smurf/Fraggle/LAND/SYN Flood), ensures normal network access services for legitimate users, and improves user application experience
4. Supports ACL policies such as Standard ACL and extend ACL, IPv6 ACL, and Time Range. Administrators can define network access rules in a fine-grained and flexible manner to control and filter data traffic, thereby strengthening the refined management of network access.
Zero Touch Provisioning
The S5920 series switch features advanced Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) capabilities, streamlining the deployment process for network administrators. With ZTP, the switch can automatically discover and load necessary version files from a file server via USB flash disk, eliminating the need for manual intervention during initial setup. This automation reduces configuration errors, accelerates the deployment process, and enhances overall network efficiency, making the S5920 series switch an ideal choice for scalable and dynamic network environments.
